NORCO COLLEGE ROCKETRY
See you on the Launchpad
2019
where it all began...
The Norco Rocketry Project was created over the Summer of 2019 by Paul Guyett, a student at Norco College at the time. With a small group of student leads, Alexander Dussualt [Propulsion Lead], Christopher Alexman [Payload Lead], Rosa Martinez [Recovery Lead], and Harsha Antony [Structures Lead], he grew the project with the intent of competing in the 2020 Spaceport America Cup.

NORCO COLLEGE ROCKETRY
In the Spring of 2020, the team boasted over 30 members and were on track to finishing their rocket, Icarus, and competing in New Mexico against +100 teams from all over the world. However, this momentum was lost when COVID-19 struck. The competition was cancelled, and ultimately, all of the leads transferred to their universities that summer.

2021
In Fall of 2021, many of these leads as well as some old team members were approached by Norco College and asked to come back as mentors to revive the project. These mentors were able to create a whole new team of students from Norco College, all of whom had zero experience with rocketry.

They were guided through achieving their NAR Level 1 and Level 2 Certifications, and designing Callisto, a competition rocket that stood over 11 ft tall and weighed 50 lbs, carrying a scientific payload and avionics. Callisto competed in the 2022 FAR 51025 HPR Competition, finally fulfilling the hopes and dreams of the original team.

The team is now headed to even greater heights, as their experience and aspirations grow.
